The Start

Well here it is, I’m doing this. Over the past year or two I have been taking shots with an entry level Canon Rebel T6 at several motocross races I have been able to make it to. I had no clue what I was getting myself into or what made me make that purchase (other than it being a Black Friday deal) but I am glad I did. I have enjoyed taking it to the races as a spectator in hopes to savor the moment (and try to replicate those badass shots you see on Transworld). Although, it does make it a little more difficult being on the sidelines at an outdoor race, in the stands in a stadium, or across the track at Daytona. Nonetheless, I have had a blast just trying to shoot every angle possible and figuring out the camera settings. Let me reiterate, I had no clue what I was doing when I first picked up this camera thing. It definitely took some getting used to and hundreds and thousands of those blurry out of focus shots, but you gotta start somewhere, right? I stuck to automatic settings for who knows how long until one day I flipped to manual and never looked back…that was a long day. Over these past couple years, I’ve taken the camera along for the ride to Daytona SX, the Redbud National, Atlanta SX, then back to Daytona, and just recently to Loretta’s. Throughout that time, I have gotten more comfortable and confident with my setup and have developed a passion for photography…I really just like shooting dirt bikes...but I’m actually getting into other types of photography as well.  It’s so fun! I feel like every time I go out I learn something new and get better. So here I am writing this blog to mark the start of this journey. I don’t know where it will take me but I am ready to see where that path leads. I don’t really know how to end one of these so I guess just stay tuned for the next post if anyone even ends up reading this.
